1st Tuesday Game Night

Jane Austen's birthday is in December. It's also when 3 of her novels were published. So, this month we're celebrating her with a card-based strategy game called Marrying Mr. Darcy. We'll also enjoy some lovely British tea, hot cocoa (what Jane would've called "chocolate"), and "biscuits" (cookies). Players are female characters in Pride & Prejudice trying to get their best marriage partner for the highest points. Acquire the traits you need to gain the attention of your chosen one and hope to goodness that a scandal doesn't ruin your chances! Other games like Ticket To Ride will be available for those not brave enough to face the "marriage market" or those fleeing a proposal from Mr. Collins. Ages 14+. Regency era costumes or accessories encouraged (if you like) so don your pelise and gloves or your waistcoat and top hat. 

After the library closes on the 1st Tuesday of the month (unless it's a holiday!) we break out an exciting table game or two and get together with friends for a couple hours of wholesome, intergenerational fun. Games vary from month to month. We encourage you to RSVP here on the website but you can also just show up. Free and open to ages 12+ unless otherwise indicated.
